Hello Rainbow Families!

I am honoured to be writing my very first newsletter as the new Administrator for Rainbow Programmes for Children. From everything I have learned about Rainbow so far, it's the greatest place to be in the summer! I have met with the returning staff (they are wonderful!) and I am working closely with the Board of Directors (they are wonderful, too!) to get everything ready as the busy summer season is ramping up.

As we welcome our new and returning campers, staff and volunteers, we are celebrating over 38 years of summer fun. 2011 promises to be another exciting summer at Rainbow.
While it may be cold and snowy outside, here at Rainbow we are already hard at work planning for an extraordinary camp season.

At Rainbow we have always believed that each and every child is unique and possesses gifts to be shared with their friends. We will continue to strive for excellence in providing our young community members with unforgettable summer experiences.

Rainbow Day Camp has also been fortunate to receive several funding supports over the past year. As a not-for-profit organization we endeavor to keep camp accessible to everyone, not to make money. Therefore, we rely on fundraising, grants and charities such as the United Way to assist us in keeping camp fees low and to provide high quality staff for all children as well as those with special abilities. Thanks to those who have supported our fundraising efforts throughout the year…

I look forward to meeting all of you in the coming months. If you have any questions or just want to say hello, please do not hesitate to contact me by e-mail (info@rainbowdaycamp.com) or by phone at 519-837-0387.

The registration process has changed a little – make sure to read the information on the website or below. Registered families can expect to receive the parent information pack during the month of June.

Thank you for choosing Rainbow Day Camp!

Jennifer Harrison

Administrator

High Five

RAINBOW is PROUD to be the FIRST in GUELPH to achieve Accreditation with HIGH FIVE ®, a program developed by Parks and Recreation Ontario with the support and endorsement of the province of Ontario and designed to support the safety, well-being and healthy development of children in recreation and sport programs.

HIGH
FIVE ® is based on the premis that a child's development is best supported when they are in a program that provides them with A Caring Adult and the opportunity to make Friends, Play, Master skills, and Participate. Rainbow is committed to these Five Principles of Healthy Development and program quality.

Our Accreditation with HIGH FIVE®,is your assurance that we meet the high quality standards of care and healthy development of children within recreation.  All of our programs, staff, procedures and policies are assessed and measured and verified for quality.  Each summer we complete HIGH FIVE® program assessments to ensure we are meeting standards and look for areas we can improve.

If you would like more information on HIGH FIVE®, please visit their website at www.highfive.org or contact us at any time.
