Leader-in-Training Program

for a general overview.

Leader-in-Training Program
(better known as LIT)

LITs in the 1.0 and 2.0 programs spend one week learning what makes a great Rainbow counsellor in a fun and interactive way through a mix of presentations and hands on activities.

After a week of learning about safety, goal setting, responsibility, team building, planning and leading activities or games (and of course swimming!), LIT’s have a practical placement week at camp. They are supported by a counsellor and the LIT program coordinator to reach goals they have identified and gain a repertoire of new experiences working with campers.

Introduction to LIT is a one-week program geared towards those turning 11 in 2018 or who aren’t quite ready for the full two-week program.

LIT 1.0 is a two-week program geared towards those who are 11 and 12 years of age.

LIT 2.0 is a two-week program geared towards those who are 13 and 14 years of age.

Please note: LITs in every program will be required to attend presentations or listen to a speaker for periods lasting up to an hour and a half.
