Camp Subsidy

Rainbow recognizes some families are not able to fully finance their child’s camp fees and Rainbow works with community partners in order to obtain funding to offset camp fees for qualifying families.

Before applying to Rainbow’s subsidy program, families must first contact The Children’s Foundation of Guelph (519-826-9551). If a family does not qualify for the program, they can apply for a subsidy through Rainbow Programmes for Children.

Subsidized funding is based on our best fundraising efforts.

As of right now we have not received any extra funds for subsidies for summer 2024, but you are more than welcome to apply in case that changes.

Limitations:

Camp fee subsidies are limited to one camp session per camper for the Children, LIT, or Teen Camp Programs.

Eligibility Criteria:

* You have one or more children 4 – 19 years of age

* You live in Guelph or Wellington County

* You are working at least part-time or attending an educational institution or training program

* You have experienced a sudden change in financial circumstance or hardship

How to apply:

Campers may be fully or partially subsidized for one week of camp each year (unless funds and space allow).

While we make every effort to assist those in need, subsidies are first come, first served. Depending on the amount of money we receive from various funders, we are sometimes able to provide full subsidies and other times partial subsidies.

Rainbow’s Policy:

All families receiving camp fee subsidy through Rainbow Programmes for Children must contribute a portion of those camp fees, per child, per camp session. The exact amount will be determined on a case-by-case basis. The subsidy does not cover Extended Care or special purchases made at Rainbow and cannot be combined with any other discount offers.
